Steps to Apply
Step 1
Submit your application.
Review our important application information and submit an application for your program of interest. We encourage you to submit it (and the other items in these steps) well in advance of the deadline. For more information on your specific program's deadlines, visit its program page.
Step 2
Submit nonrefundable application fees.
You will be able to pay the application fee online during the final step of the application. For more information regarding application fees, please review application fees.
Step 3
Submit copies of official transcripts and certifications.
One copy of your official, complete transcripts (including all marks sheets) must be provided. Official transcripts (including all marks sheets) will be required if admission is granted. For more information, review:
You must upload copies of your official transcripts (not print-outs, grade reports, advising transcripts or transcripts stamped "unofficial") during the online application.
Step 4
Submit official TOEFL or IETLS scores.
TOEFL, IELTS, or PTE scores are required for admission consideration. Please have your scores sent directly to The Graduate College from the testing center. Use Texas State's institution code, 006667, when requesting TOEFL scores. For IELTS Indicator or PTE results, please be sure to designate “Texas State University” as the recipient. Step 5
Submit official GRE or GMAT scores (if required).
If your intended program of study requires GRE or GMAT scores for admission consideration, please have the official scores sent directly to The Graduate College from the testing center using Texas State's institution code, 006667. For more information, review:

Step 6
Submit program requirements.
Most graduate programs require additional application documents. Please review the admission requirements for your program of study and submit only documents required by the program. For more information, review:

Once you complete your online application, you will be able to upload documents (such as resumes, essays, statements of purpose, etc.).
Step 7
Check application status online.
You can check the status of your application online after submitting the application. Your status check will reflect the dates of items received by our office. If a date is missing, the item has not been received and is still required. For more information, review:

Step 8
Review important information if you are admitted.
If you are admitted, your immigration documents will be processed through Texas State University's International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS). Other offices are available to provide information regarding housing, financial aid, and other important services. For more information, review:

Submit official transcripts.
Official, complete transcripts (including all marks sheets) must be sent by the accredited university that granted your degree(s). Transcripts must be submitted in an university-sealed envelope to Graduate Admissions. For more information, review:
